Newslink 03/2006

First of all, it is great to be onboard and I look forward to working with all of you. The newsletter will be just one way of staying in touch with you, but will keep you up to date on my work and network issues. Please share with me and the network your success stories and developments to keep this document alive. My ambition is to keep this document short and to the point with a reasonable frequency to provide regular updates.
The year 2006 will be a strong one for b-to-b marketing, with increased budgets, significant growth in online marketing and the launch of new ad campaigns, according to BtoB's "2006 Marketing Priorities and Plans" survey. The online survey of 366 senior marketing executives, conducted during the last week of November and the first week of December, found that 60.7% will be working with bigger budgets in 2006; 31.6% said their budgets would be flat; and only 7.7% said their budgets would decrease.
Now we need to put in place he necessary programs to capitalize on clients’ marketing investments and attract new international business. Over the last weeks Don and I have discussed and listed my immediate priorities.

3. Johan Caignie’s Retirement

Johan Caignie, as you all know, retired from his role as Network Manager of INBA in November of 2005. After many years of serving our network, Johan has decided the time is right to pursue other interests in life. In the seven years since he took over for his predecessor, Rune Hallin, Johan has done an excellent job of keeping the various members from around the world connected ~ not an easy task. He has also worked hard at recruiting potential new members for INBA’s consideration. And with the exception of Beijing, Johan has been an active participant at all of our World Conferences.
Johan, on behalf of all of the members of INBA, we thank you for your considerable contributions to the success of our network. And we wish you much success in all of your endeavors in the future.
